AN INTRODUCTION TO RECORDING AND PRODUCTION TECHNIQUES

With a basic understanding of recording and production techniques.
Who may be familiar with computer based music production but would like to learn about recording live instruments and controlling a large analogue console.

• Microphone selection
• Microphone techniques
• The signal path and the use of outboard equipment
• Understanding a large format console
• Managing a session and developing results
• Multi track recording
• Mixing
Course Structure:
Under the guidance of a professional sound engineer participants will experience the recording process by recording a live act in the studio.
The emphasis will be on ‘hands on’ learning with participants encouraged to be involved and ask questions at every stage of the day.
Numbers will be limited to 4 people per course. Participants will leave with a CD of the completed mix and will be sent the multi-track files should they wish to work further with the material. A certificate is also provided.
Cost:
£180 + Vat.
The full fee is payable on booking. An 50% refund will be given for cancellations made one week or more before course date. Payment accepted by debit card, credit card, cheque or cash.
